ReferNet is a European network established by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP).  The aim of this network is to meet the growing demand for information on policies and developments in the area of Vocational Education and Training in the European Union.

ReferNet provides a forum for exchanging information through a decentralised approach based on the contribution of National Consortia.  These Consortia are composed of VET stakeholders in the 27 EU member states as well as Norway and Iceland.  

Network activities are focused on documentary and dissemination activities, collection and analysis of information on National VET systems, and collection and dissemination of research activity in VET policy at National and European level.

The Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus (HRDA) was designated as the National ReferNet Coordinator of the Cyprus  ReferNet Consortium.  The consortium comprises 17 other members, representing Ministries and Government departments (7 members), Employer and Trade Union organisations (6 members), Non-profit making organisations (2 members), and National agencies managing European Programmes (2 members).
